SAVANNAH, Ga. — Tailgate, RV and vendor spaces for the 2016 Savannah State University football season are now available for purchase from the Savannah State University Athletics Department. The tailgate space rental rate is $50 for each regular season home game excluding Homecoming on October 29. Homecoming game spaces are $150 per space. Regular season home game RV space rentals are $100 for each regular season game and $250 per space for Homecoming.
SSU will host home football games this season on September 24 against Bethune-Cookman University (Greek Night/Parents Weekend/Open Campus Day), October 8 against Morgan State University (The Pink Game/Military Day), October 29 against Howard University (Homecoming), and November 5 against Norfolk State University (Community/High School Band Day).
Each Homecoming tailgate space purchase includes one parking pass and four tailgating wristbands. Additional Homecoming tailgate area wristbands can be purchased for $5 in advance or on game day. Tailgate area wristbands will be required for all individuals 7 years or older entering the designated tailgating area. Homecoming tailgate spaces will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis and payments must be received by 4 p.m. on Friday, October 14.
Tailgating and RV customers are not allowed to sell items, but may purchase a vending space instead. Additionally, due to Game Day interference, tailgaters are not allowed to use any wireless speakers or microphones in the tailgating area.
Non-Food vendor spaces are available for $475 for regular home games and $400 per space for Homecoming. Vendors who desire to sell clothing and/or other paraphernalia with Savannah State University’s name, initials, tagline and/or logo must purchase a non-exclusive license from Learfield Licensing Partners available at learfieldlicensing.com. Vendors selling food items must pay the vendors fee of $500 and must provide proof of a Chatham County Health Department food vending application. All food vendor spaces must be purchased by September 1.
Payments may be made to the SSU Athletics Department by money orders or cashier’s check payable to “SAVANNAH STATE UNIVERSITY ATHLETICS” or online at SSUAthletics.com. Cash payments can only be made to the SSU Cashier’s Office, located in Hill Hall.
