Registration now open for the 2020 GAAHBSU Legislative Conference

SAVANNAH, Ga. — Registration for the 2020 Georgia Alumni Association of Historically Black State Universities (GAAHBSU) Legislative Conference is now available by mail or online at The 35th annual conference will be held January 28-30, 2020, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Atlanta Airport (3400 Norman Berry Drive, Atlanta, Ga.).

Registration is $130 if postmarked before January 17, 2020 or $145 if postmarked after January 17, 2020 and may be purchased by registering online or completing the 2020 GAAHBSU Registration Form. The registration includes all meals registration materials, and access to the conference hospitality. Registration without meals may be purchased for $35. Single event tickets include the Student Recruitment Luncheon ($55), the Awards and Recognition Dinner ($68), and access to the hospitality suite ($25). GAAHBSU, a consortium of the national alumni associations of Albany State University, Fort Valley State University, and Savannah State University, was organized to advance the missions of Georgia’s state-funded historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) to help ensure their futures. The annual legislative conference provides a forum for alumni and university officials to dialogue with elected officials and key state leaders to address common goals and concerns.

Established in 1890, Savannah State University is the oldest public historically black college or university in Georgia and the oldest institution of higher learning in the city of Savannah. SSUNAA/DSUAA Florida Chapter Announce Raffle Fundraiser Winner

SAVANNAH, Ga. — Linda Denton was recently announced as the winner of the joint Savannah State University National Alumni Association / Delaware State University Alumni Association Florida Chapter fundraiser raffle. Mrs. Denton, a member of SSUNAA Valdosta Alumni Chapter, won a three day / two night package at the Star Island Resort and Spa in the Kissimmee/Orlando, Fla. area. The winning ticket was drawn and announced on February 10 at halftime of the Savannah State University Winter Homecoming basketball game between Savannah State University and Morgan State University.
